The San Francisco Community Television Corporation (SFCTC) operating Access
SF has an opening for the position of Operations Manager for San
Francisco's public access channel. Applicants must be willing to live in
or near one of the world's most beautiful and interesting cities.

DUTIES:
Supervision of channel and facilities day-to-day operations. This includes:
Supervision of 6.00 FTE staff. Scheduling of staff hours and assignments.
Quarterly scheduling of workshops and facility usage.
Supervision of staff working on training, facilitation, field equipment
check-out, maintenance and engineering. Some workshop instruction and user
facilitation required. Some weekend and evening hours required.
Website administration, design and maintenance is a plus.
Supervision of systems for channel playback, studio and remote production
and editing.
Evaluating equipment usage, maintenance and trouble-shooting.
Participating in equipment purchasing and evaluation.
Producing forms and information packets for the public access facility.
Liaison between public access producers volunteers and staff.
Other responsibilities as determined by the Executive Director.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination equivalent to: a bachelor's degree with major course work
in television production or related field. Three years experience in
public access cable television.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
PC literate with special emphasis on MS Word, Access, Excel, Facil and any
other database software.
Must be proficient in pre and post production including studio, field
production and linear editing. Experience with non-linear a plus.
Must have the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of
social and ethnic groups and have effective oral and written communication
skills.

Salary: $40,000 - $45,000 depending on experience. Full Benefits.

Public Access stations are notoriously under funded. One takes this type of job for the passion, not the money.

Not even then. You need to commute in from Modesto (or maybe Kentucky).

The SFUSD starts new teachers at a little more than that. You can live here for 40k if you share a flat and don't own a car, or if your spouse makes a lot more. Generally, at 40k you live pretty modestly.

40k? additional job requirements must be; live with parents and considered a dependent on tax forms, no pets, no life, and no business sense.
