OT: SATA Drive Assign - Norton Ghost

Lots of OTs these days - sorry to add to it.. I do plan on talking to alienware tech support tomorrow but really can't wait to get editing on my new system ! :)

My new system - I ordered
74Gig 10,000 RPM SATA system drive
800gig (2 x 400gig raid 0) SATA avi work drive
400gig SATA (extra storage for mp3, etc

Well, i just got it, and it looks like C: system drive is the 800 gig avi drive - D: drive is 74gig and E: is 400 gig drive.

STINK! i want my 10k 74gig for my system drive for obvious reasons.

How difficult will this be to change? (not at all familar with SATA spec nor the new intel 925X board)
Can it simply be changed in Bios or will i need to swap cables?

Obivously will need to reinstall when i change system C: drive.

I got "Alienware Respawn" kit shipped with my computer. Which, includes a DVD disc image (norton ghost) , to easily reset software configs to how it left factory.

After swapping drives, will i be able to transfer the image to a different (size) drive?

Help would be appreciated!! thanks!

(ps - 3.4 gig P4, 1gig DDR2 PC4200 = 1:13 sundance render test)

Swap cables. However if the OS is already installed on the C drive which is the 800G drive then you'll have to re-install the OS as it expects to be on the first physical drive I think.

Well actually.. figured this out with alien tech support. Was pretty simple.
with SATA on my 925x board, all i had to do was change boot drive in bios and use norton to clone image onto. (no more cable swapping on those big ugly fat IDE cables thank goodness - plus, would highly recommend getting a disc image of configuration as it leaves manufacturer)

everything is working great now!
thanks
