OT Scenalizer Live problem

I use SClive all the time and find it invaluable to delete all the rubbish I seem to get on my tapes and capture before I commit it to the hard disk. This is particularly handy as I am now capturing all those old holiday analogue digi 8 tapes before they or the camera pack up. You get lots of 1 frame files and black frames etc.
My problem is, if I step through a file faster than about 1 frame per second (with the arrow keys) SClive will immediately crash. I have un-installed and reinstalled a new download with no change. All other functions are OK.
Cheers, Brian

The obvious answer is to stop stepping through files with SCLive.

Who's got time for that anyway? Just capture the whole tape, ignoring dropouts. If at some point in the future you actually want to edit a production from this footage, you can edit out the bad parts then.

I don't think it is a problem with Scenalyzer. I've used it for almost a decade and never had the problem you describe, nor have I ever seen it reported elsewhere.

However, I HAVE seen issues like this when scrubbing footage from external drives. Is your footage on an external USB or FireWire drive? If it is Firewire, do you also have your camera hooked up to the same channel? If so, I'm pretty sure that is the problem. Disconnect the camera (or whatever the Firewire capture device you are using for the Analog to Digital conversion of your old tapes) before scrubbing.
