OT-search engine held hostage

Somehow my default home page keeps getting reset to
res://mshp.dll/index.html#22776. even after I go into options and change it. Also when ever I go to google I get a pop up to http://search-company.com/search.php?qq=DHR-1000&pin=22776. I have cleared all my temp files, cookies abd its still there, any ideas?

You might try grabbing Ad-aware, it's free, and will likely find whatever has taken over your system faster than you would looking manually

Just put that url into Google and you will find a lot of pages telling you how to get rid of that hijacker.

That's precisely why I dumped Imternet Explorer. I use a super browser from Avant...it's free, limits popups, won't let anyone piarte your home page, automatically imports all your IE favorites...IMO the less you use from Billy Gates, the better.
