Needed a second tripod for another camera, did not want to spend $600 or more
for a good tripod when I already had an OK tripod.

sliding plate. Not easily found in Manfrotto's website, thought I'd post this.
The plate, while raises the center of gravity, did allow me to balance the camera, lens,
and wireless so the cheap friction drag could handle the camera. Around $43 USD.
Being higher COG you do need to watch low angle shots as can take a nosedive
so lock the drag.
