OT: Software Firewire Switcher?

Hi,

My IEEE 1394 (FireWire) card, that I use to get DV into my computer, has 3 ports. Has anyone determined if there is a way to switch between 2 or 3 live DV sources into the capture of a single DV (720X480) .avi file? Cuts only is fine. I know about the Videonics MX Pro switcher, but it is too much.

I tried to convince an engineer to do just that (along with a downstream key). No joy so far...

Looks interesting, I have several churches interested in getting their message out, I can attend but one service a Sunday!

Might be something to stear them too. Has anyone tried this product?
In the past the learning curve of teaching eager church workers has proven long & difficult. Getting the feedback out of the sound system usualy is the first thing on my list......

Here's how we capture our church service:

Multiple cameras feeding an MX Pro DV mixer via S-Video with live switching throughout the service.
Mixer S-Video to Panasonic AG-DV2000 deck
Backup tape running in the deck
Firewire from deck to PC.
Live capture onto harddrive

Service is ready to be edited as soon as the service is over.
