OT: Some Days...

For a short (< 1 minute) diversion, I offer this:

My family and I took our new toy (Canon 5D Mark III) out on a hike with us on this beautiful spring day here. On our way back up the trail out of the canyon, we came across this subject matter that I couldn't resist. Fortunately, my wife had been showing an interest in macro photography recently and I had purchased some extension tubes. So, armed with her 70-200mm zoom and an extension tube, I struggled to maintain focus to produce the above video. Edited in Vegas Pro 11, of course!

Edit: Perhaps I should also warn that the content might not be what some would enjoy. If you don't like the show, "Dirty Jobs" on principle, then this video is probably not for you.

Enjoy!

Excellent, thanks.
I'm a sucker for macro, especially of bugs.

D'yer think SCS knows about this "bug"?

Bet they don't!

"D'yer think SCS knows about this "bug"?"

I was going to suggest that bug might be the world's smallest Vegas user but then I thought better of it. Vegas is being dumped on enough all ready.

Might qualify as a Vegas 11 promo.

Thanks for the comments. I'm glad you folks seemed to enjoy the comic relief, as did I.

Here's the video (the real video) we shot earlier that day. This doesn't need a "this might be gross" disclaimer. It was intended as pure beauty. I was going to start a new thread ("Show us your Spring colors"), but thought I'd just post this here. If others are interested in showing off their Spring colors, I hope someone will start such a thread and I'll repost the link there.

There's also a link to the ungraded vs. graded footage of this video in the info to this video at Vimeo, if anyone is interested.

Jason, Very nice quality video.
Liked all the different aspects of a trickling stream. The exposures of the dark rocks were just right imho. did you use manual exposure? Did you use all manual or automatic settings.

Thank you, Byron. Yes. I always us manual exposure on my DSLR. I have found the histogram to be very valuable in setting exposure and relied on it in shooting this.
