Check this out, sorry but there's no direct link. Navigate to the Niagra 2K-360 Test Flight or Canada 360 slideshow to see what these guys are up to.
In short 9x SI MINI cameras ala CircleVision recording to 9 Macbooks. All cameras synced and fitted with iris motors.

Now the only question is how the heck do you edit the footage?

I'd hate to see what it would cost to get the FAA certification to add that kind of rig to an aircraft flying in the US.

Probably not cheap in Canada either...

...and another helicopter had Canadian registration C-FHNB.

Helicopters schlep all kinds of stuff all the time, shouldn't be hard to get a Form 337 approved, if they even need that.

Fixed wing aircraft ("air planes") are much more critical when it comes to hanging draggy items outside though.
