OT (somewhat) Premiere Track Effects

I have a personal copy of Vegas 8 at home but I have to use Premiere CS3 at work. In Vegas, you can easily add effects to a track using the track header.

But in Premiere CS3, I don't think adding an effect to an entire track is possible is it? Is the work flow supposed to be to output to after effects and render? Or make a nested sequence? Can anyone advise?

Thanks!

Premiere will NOT allow you to add an effect to the Entire Track.
Neither will FCP or Avid.

This is one of the Big Bonuses of Vegas' early years as separate Audio & Video apps.
That is an Audio thing that got carried over into the current Audio/Video Vegas.

People trip and say I'm lying when I mention this feature.
I show them... and their jaws drop.

File>New>Sequence.

Drag Sequence 01 (or whatever you named it) into the new sequence and apply the FX to it.

You can use Vegas the same way using nested veg files and it can be a good way to keep focussed on the task at hand rather than having a zillion tracks in a longform project.

Although I enjoy being able to open/edit multiple instances of Vegas... I absolutely HATE not being able to have multiple timelines in a Vegas project.
I would much rather have a 100% self-contained project of a zillion tracks as apposed to a zillion projects.
