OT: Sony DRU-720A Burner Problems

I am having problems with my burner making DVD-R discs, has anyone else had this problem? DVD+R's work fine, the drive just doesn't burn to DVD-R's anymore and I get an error when I use DVDA 3. I have burnt DVD-R's before, but with an earlier version of firmware.

I am using Firmware version J07.

Have you tried a different brand of media?

Here is some data on various media and it's compatibility with that burner based upon user experience. In terms of the firmware, have you tried firmware JY03?

It is the exact same media, I am using a newer version of firmware though.

I think my burner is malfunctioning, Sony's drive test utility found errors during the burning process.

You may be on to something, I think JY03 was the firmware version I used last and it worked, maybe JY07 has a bug??
