OT: Sorrenson Squeeze Compression Suite

gdstaples wrote on 1/9/2006, 8:14 PM
I just purchased the Compression Suite and am trying to compress an MPEG 2 file (16:9) in to a 512KB Quicktime file. For some reason I cannot get the program to see the MPEG 2 file as 16:9 - it comes up looking 4:3 in the crop window or darn close to it.

The MPEG file is 16:9 and when I run it through Flix Pro everything comes out perfect. This must be a Squeeze thing.

Any forums or tips/suggestions would be appreciated.

I can't seem to find an online forum for this product.

Everytime I import an MPEG 2 file that is 29.97 progressive, 720x480 at 16:9 widescreen, the file imports to the preview window in 4:3 and I cannot seem to get the program to see the file as an actual widescreen file. Vegas sees it perfectly as does WinDVD etc.

YUP - thanks Jrazz. DOH!

I have to say that this program freakin rocks. I have been using Flix Pro for conversion to Flash MX video and it would take nearly an hour to render 10 minutes of video. Squeeze produces the same quality with the same or better file size in less than 5 minutes - SWEET!
