OT - sort of - audio post

Just a thought "out loud' here. I love Vegas for it's audio tools. Lots of people are now using it in a more "pro" setting for not only audio but also editing. So...any of you programmers out there (And this includes you Sofo/Sony folk) want to take a stab at something like this: Virtual Katy.

Sort of in short - Virtual Katy is only for Pro Tools. And you also need either an Avid OMF or an EDL...currently something that Vegas doesn't do well (or at all) .

So why the need?
Scenerio 1> I would love to be able to take in a project edited on another NLE and edit the audio. However I would have to wait until a final locked picture before even trying to start because it is near impossible to take in a project cut on another system and get it "rebuilt". So I am somewhat limited in the department.

Scenerio 2> Take in a Vegas edited project, however be able to keep up with changes an editor makes and be able to adjust fairly easy. (the main point of Virtual Katy)

Scenerio 3> Do the reverse - be able to send editorial changes to other people involved who might be using Pro Tools or even Vegas. Sound designers, Composers, Effects artists, etc.

Bottom line - some sort of add on, or built in ability, to have a better workflow amongst a creative team where one or more are using Vegas. There are variations out there - most are Pro-Tools and Mac centric...but a key thing as well - they all use EDL's to exchange info.
