OT: Sound card Problem...

OK now... I detected 3 worms on my system then destroyed those.
Now, the problem I got is that my card itself is detected by system but when I try to play music or use any app that needs sound, it says that there's no *mixer* peripheric detected in my system.
The diagnostic detects the hardware but no drivers, even after installing / re-installing the drivers (updated).
This is a soundblaster Live Value (that hopefully I'm getting rid of for a M-Audio delta 44 this week-end. But I'd still like to be able to Capture those 15 tapes on my desk 'til then!)
Thanks!

De-install (remove) the card in Control Panel > System.
Delete the driver.
Reboot the machine.
Install the driver from the original source (choose the <have disc> option).

That should do it.
Good luck on your Delta 44. I have a Delta 66 and it gives me pleasure every time I use it.

Oh boy... this was "just a few worms"...
Big clean-up on the schedule now; I got all my stuff back but everything is on the wrong drive now (drives letters changed, etc...)
The sound card is still alive; it was a "worm effect".
I'M happy it was not a *virus* that could have messed all my files, or simply deleted those...imagine; 430 Go of files (mostly video footage) f***ed up...

Holy schnoutt, I'm just thinking about those guys who spend HOURS developping those worms and viruses; what a bunch of ***losers***...
