I need a sound effect for a simulated computer/radar screen. This is used alot in movies. I think in the first terminator when we get the terminators POV and see the display and the sound of the interface as it measures various things. Or in something like JAG or many other miliary/space films where they have computer generated letters streaming on the screen with a chirping computer sound effect. I would like to have control over the effect so I wonder if anyone has come across it in an effects collection or has some idea of how to recreate the sound from scratch. (not just grab it off of a film.)
also,
The project I am working on is of a friends VIP visit to two Aircraft Carriers several years ago. He shot it with a VHS-C camera and had some photos from his trip including some they got from the Navy. I have brought the footage into the computer (Using a Canopus ADVC-300) and want to do some Discovery Channel/National Geographic Channel esque openings and segues. I am also using After Effects and Ultra 2. Since alot of the shots were handheld I will attempt to stabilize and smooth out as much as I can using either After Effects motiontrack/stabilize or Virtual Dub and the stabilize recipes I've seen posted here.
Some of the footage of Hornets landing has intermittent radar interference that blows the signal apart. For now I am just splitting before and after the anomaly and then just overlapping the footage to create a slight dissolve/jump cut. Luckily of the 4 tapes only one had this problem. --Anyone who has run into this before that has some suggestions --- I would appreciate input. I am trying to find alternate shots to cut to that make sense as the aircraft is landing but there is not a lot to work with.
Thank you
