Hi - this is an odd problem, I just launched V8 and started editing in it, when I noticed all the audio and video was stuttering, as though there were a memory problem. But I had just rebooted my pc, 4gigs ram winxp, and so that's not it, and cpu usage is down under 20%.

On cross-checking, now it looks like all my audio/media apps can't play audio files normally, eg they stutter and then stop altogether - any ideas on what could be causing this? I've never had that happen before... playback stutters in all audio apps, though everything's configured correctly.. video plays ok, in media player, just all the audio and video w/audio, doesn't seem to work.

I suppose I'll reboot the pc again; in the meantime, any ideas?
