NEC just announced this 42.8" curved display, "perfect for those requiring lightning-fast response time, much wider field of view, greater dynamic range and wide color gamut."

Features 99.3% of the Adobe RGB color space, 10,000:1 contrast, 2880x900 resolution, works with regular (recent) video cards.

A dream for X-Plane and other flight simulators.

Live video of it at pixelheads.

Available April 2009 for a measly $6,500!

I want one!

:O)

Only 900 pixels high? Seems a bit limited. 1200 would have been a lot nicer.

That was also my first thought.

If you can't live with 900, you'll need to do without.

Won't matter much unless you're editing 1080 HD and don't have a separate video monitor.

Well, it's not even video formats i worry about. I like having a taller screen for a lot of reasons since i do a lot of document work. For writing software, having a taller window saves a lot of scrolling around. I didn't get a wide format monitor until i could afford one with well over 1000 vertical resolution. I can't imagine going back to less than that now.

You could always mount it vertically and get 2880 pixels from top to bottom.

Can't beat that!

:O)

P.S. Except you could even mount two vertically side-by-side and get 2880x1800 VxH...

Dam, just when I thought I wouldn't have to spend more money for a TV they finally introduce a screen size the way it should have been.

Yeah, keep changing the format every few years and charge an arm and leg in the process. That'll certainly boost sales (and the ecomony)!

Nice monitor. Reminds me of the days when a calculator was $1000 and everybody wanted one.
