I really like this forum but wish for improved navigation capabilities. One of my favorite sites is DPReview - here are some of their features I would like to see on this Sony site:
1. From the forum header section a single click switches between threaded and flat view. On this Sony site I have the extra steps of first going to Forum Settings, selecting the mode, and submitting.
2. From the forum header section a single click let's me filter on My Threads. This is great for checking for responses to my posts. Here on Sony it is a multi-click process using Search.
3. In threaded view while reading a single post, I have these options:
- Forum
- First
- Previous
- Reply
- Quote
- New
- Next New
These options cover everything I would normally want to do when reading a post. They make it easier to navigate through large threads, and to reply to individual posts with quoted text. I also like the Next New option since I can easily skip the ones I have already read.
If in the future Sony plans to update the site navigation method I hope they will consider these suggestions.
