OT: SW/HW show video with bck and fwd frm control

OK - way off topic but I figure there are probably others around here who may have done similar things as what I want to do.

I have created in Vegas a video that will be shown at an event (on Sunday!!) - Usually for various reasons when I show a video I copy it back to a DV and play it from there into a projecter(V)/amp(A) (issues with DVD skips and PC silliness got me to this point)

But Sunday's video is interactive. The video will be stopped and started at various points .. with a live person talking to the video and getting answers etc.

I know I can still do it on DV and just pause at each proper time - but I am a little nervous if I go too far and need to move back a few frames etc.

I was even thinking of showing it off a laptop with my shuttle attached .. so I can move a few frames without having the audience notice too much.

I was going to actually show the video in womble - but I don't think the quality is good enough (is it?)

Or can I use MS media player - with a womble and get frame control?

Any media player you would suggest to do this?

Thanks
Allen

There was a poster a while back who did a live show on a water screen. I can't remember the post but he was in much the same position as you and needed to be able to make changes and find frame accurate points right away. He connected a projector directly to Vegas and ran the show right off the time line.

is the quality of the "external monitor"=projector, high enough quality
to be shown - how much worse than a DV would it be.

Also I am using a Laptop so not sure I can do "high quality" externla monitor without it getting kind of weak ...
maybe I will just have to pray and use the DV ...

anyone know a media player that I can move frame by frame while in pause mode?

Thanks
