I really enjoy Cool 3D, as it's easy to use. Can either be very detailed and hand worked, or drag n' drop very nice presets to create motion.
Haven't had a whole lot of experience with Swift, downloaded the demo and played for maybe 30 mins was all, so I can't comment.
Cool 3D allows video textures to be applied to anything, can hand lathe objects in seconds, and is easy to animate. The keyframe tool looks very much like Flash.
Regarding output to Flash, Cool 3D does this too, but I've never used it for that. I've always outputted an uncompressed vid file that Vegas reads with the alpha channel.

If you're planning on doing serious Flash type animation, foget about the knock-off products and get the real thing. The main reason is you can do so much more. Its kind of like comparing Photoshop to its knock-offs. If you're never going to go beyond the simplistic stuff then fine, if you want to push the envelope then its worth getting. BTW, if you think Vegas has a steep learning curve, Flash is a lot steeper. But as far as user friendlyness, Vegas wins hands down. Flash can be a tough beast to tame, but its a lot of fun to mess with and you can get some really wild results.
