OT: Swish video for output- anybody using?

Went a head and bought Swishmax and picked up Swishstudio and Swishvideo for an extra 50 bucks.

I was playing around with Swishvideo and I am not getting very good results. My footage is avi that was rendered from the Cineform Intermediary to avi widescreen 24p with a 2-3-3-2 pulldown. I am bringing that into Swishvideo and rendering with varying settings, but not getting much resutl-wise.
So, is anybody else using this? Do you have any recommendations?

I use this on occasion, and it's pretty good. If you have Camtasia 3, it's slightly better, but not better enough to buy the program if you only need flash output.
Reduce some of your range, keeping levels very tightly in place, try 12fps vs 24p for final output, see if that helps.

So far as I've been able to determine, SwishVideo will not make full Flash-8 (On2 codec) .flv files. It will make the previous format, Flash-7 .flv files, which are pretty good, but nowhere near Flash 8.

I decided to go ahead and buy Flash-8 - samples/comparisons are at: www.hd-vo.com/stream

There was a big jump in video quality for a given bitrate in the jump to Flash8. As far as I can tell, there are two ways to get the new codec used in Flash8:

(1) buy the Macromedia Flash8 product (about $700);

(2) buy one of the On2 video encoding products (starting at $40).

On2 is the company making the codec behind Flash8.

I don't think Flash8 is quite as efficient as wmv, but it's far friendlier, in my opinion, when it comes to web-based video stuff. With wmv-based video on the website I support there was always a question whether some user could see the video in his computer; with Flash8 everyone can see the video.

I'm still not having any luck getting the quality up to par. I posted to the Swishvideo forum but haven't gotten anything yet. The details are listed there if anybody has any thoughts.

Here is the link.

As mentioned earlier, the codec you're trying to use is old. Even with the latest (Flash8/On2) codec, I'd expect comparable video with a Flash flv size of about 20MB, based on the fact that your wmv file is about 15MB. For the earlier Flash codec, I would expect to double or triple that 20MB figure before you get comparable quality.
