Took Vegas & some Sony loops for a spin to put together a video for our Chamber of Commerce's 2004 theme. Jokes & references won't be "gotten" of course, but we set out to make a "kinda bad" film noir piece. I'd love to know what you all think.
GREAT JOB! Production was very consistant and for a message of it s type the piece was very good at keeping the attention of someone who wouldn't otherwise watch the whole thing through.
Was all video editing done with Vegas 4? Audio also?
BTW - I downloaded the file and viewed it large. It was falling apart but I imagine that it looks great in a version other than WMV.
Exactly the same question I was going to ask! My mostly untrained eye is starting to pick up on what else makes a piece flow (and what ties it together) and a Font that fits the type of film is important.
In the same way the music is very well suited (my mostly untrained ear picked up on that :).
What a great job that was! I recognized a loop or two. Was this made for the Chamber of Commerce? They must have loved it and it Mr. Gutenberg was truly the President of the Chamber he's also a great actor (or at least he had a great director).
Thanks for checking it out. It was a lot of fun to do.
The BIG PICTURE: yes, wmv 256k would probably look horrible. The DVDA version taken from the master .avi looks pretty good on a 32" set.
Yes, it was edited entirely in Vegas 4. The opening graphics (including the "blinking" sign) were created in PhotoShop.
The font is Plaza.
ALL of the music is from Sony loop libraries. The orchestra stuff is from the Orchestra series (mostly "Modern" and "Classical") and the piano/big band stuff is from "Jazz Trap Kit," "American Piano," "Solos and Sections" and "On The Jazz Tip" libraries.
Excellent production values (lighting, camera placement and movement, etc.). Good use of the local talent. If that's the Chamber 'o Commerce pres, he's got real stage presence.
Almost makes me want to move back to upper state NY.
Excellent work--my only issue was that the highlights on his face are pretty much overexposed throughout---could be a function of my monitor---.By the way, my wife is from Ithaca--great town----
