Is there anything I should know before I take my video and photo cams to Kenya?

Yes. Watch out for lions and tigers.

Yes. If you're flying into, then out of England, be aware that you can only take one item -- bag, camera bag, hand bag, duty free bag, etc., -- onto the plane as carry one.

The Brits are really tough about this, especially British Airways. There's no latitude, no room for argument. I'd check this out before leaving the U.S.

My wife and I, not knowing this, had to do a frantic and very messy repack on the floor of the lobby of Gatwick at 6:30 a.m. on morning in April last year.

Have a grand trip.

The regulations have changed significantly regarding batteries. I think the big change is that you can't pack li-ion battery packs in checked luggage. Refer to the DHS website for sure.

You should also file your customs reports here because when you come back into the states, you may have to prove you did not buy your camera etc overseas. Otherwise, you have to pay taxes. I have done this even for trips to Canada doing shoots. Also when I went to Scotland.
