Hello -- How well does the Tascam FW 1884 work with VEGAS 5?

Are there any issues that should be aware of?

It is not directly supported as it does not completely emulate the Mackie Control Universal.

It can be mapped with the Generic Control driver in Vegas, but it will not take advantage of the motorize faders.

We are working with Tascam on solution.

hey there.....I just bought a FW-1884 to go with vegas 4.0. i can't seem to get it up and running to control Vegas in any way - it does play back and I can monitor, but other than that it seems useless at this point. How do I get to the Generic Control driver you mention? Also, when does the fix with Tascam look like it will be ready?

Vegas 4.0 does not support external control. This feature was release with Vegas 5.0.

FWIW: Vegas 5.0b will permit devices that emulate the Mackie Unversal Control to interface with Vegas. The level of interface however is dependent on how well the device emulates the Mackie.
