OT: Telestrator goes 3D

I just noticed this on CBS college basketball. I was taking a break from Vegas and I turned on the Kentuckey-Louisville game. They were diagramming an instant replay using a telestrator (drawing lines onscreen to show where the players would go).

Every telestrator I've seen before tended to flat, white lines. Today I saw they are now using 3-D curves with light effects on each one and a different color for each player. First time I've seen it. It definitely jumps out at you. I wonder if it was real time. This was a replay they showed after coming out of a commerical, so they could have rendered it not real time.

Buster, I saw a demo of this at the NAB show, and it was applied in realtime. I don't recall the company though, because this wasn't really my cup of tea. The one I saw had a more or less 'plastic' appearance similar to what a bevel does in Alien Skin for AE. I don't watch sports, so don't know if this is what I saw, but the demo also had smooth lines and a wiped line appearance.
