OT: that annoying, twitchy, jump mouse!

I've had an annoying problem on 2 PC's I use. both have twitchy/jumpy mice. It wasn't the brand... one is a $5 genceric one & one is a ~$60 Razor Diamondback, both optical. Both had the same problem: they'd both jump & twitch the pointer, move funny, etc.

Well, today I figured it out & just HAD to share it, just in case someone else wants to know.

My mouse had hair in the laser hole. :) I took the hair out & they work perfectly now!

Just wanted to let other know just in case they have the same problem & are thinking of re-formatting (I was but I googled the problem first!).

Thanks for the tip. I wouldn't have thought of that. I've just had a cheap Chinese optical mouse give up most of its ghost, but I think this one is terminal.

Same problem is common in mechanical mice. Remove the ball and pick the dust or hair off the rollers and it's back to working condition.
