Attach a matte box, rails, power pack and gemi 444 and you are good to go.

Interesting.

A similar device (see link below) has been available here in the UK for at least 2 years at, strangely, about the equivalent price. I say strangely because normally whatever the price in US Dollars that will be the same figure in UK Pounds thus making an item around 50% dearer.

I use a version for my Sony TG3 with very good results.

The last time I hand held a camera out like that was photographing fireworks for 20 minutes. Ity took about 3 years for my left shoulder to heal.

They can be very unsafe in rough neighborhoods someone’s bound to shoot you in self-defense.

On a more serious note:

- anyone seen something similar for Samsung Galaxy 2?

The SG2 records stunning 1080p video (so good in fact, I couldn't believe my eyes the first time I displayed it on my 50" plasma)- but of course, hand- holding it steady is impossible :)

Two immediate thoughts:

(1) Why they didn't call it an "i-steady" is a mystery

(2) $180 for a couple of bent tubes and a gimbal takes a bit of chutzpah.
