OT- Time Lapse Seconds

My church is currently building a new building and I've been taking pictures each day of it's progress to be included in a project I'm working on.

I'm going to display these still photos in succession so members can see the church go up (built) in a manner of seconds, kinda like time lapse photography.

My question is--- Is there a set standard (seconds wise) in displaying photos in a time lapse situation?

Right now, I've got the pictures being displayed at .3 second intervals. This displays a little over 3 pictures a second. It looks fairly well in watching the building go up, but I'm not sure if .3 seconds is the optimum time. I was thinking maybe .25 seconds would be better, but just wanted to get some other opinions before I go changing a lot of things.

Thanks for your time and help...

It's pretty much a judgement call you have to make for what looks good to you and what you think will look good for your audience. You don't specify the frequency at which the photographs were taken, so we can't really give you any advice on timing.

Changing the duration is quite easy though. If you have imported the photographs as individual events, select all of them, press G to group, then hold the Ctrl key down while dragging the end of the last photo left or right. Dragging to the left will speed up the whole squence while dragging to the right will slow it down. If you imported them all at .3 seconds then you can use this method to adjust anywhere from 0.075 to 1.2 seconds.

If you have imported them as an image sequence then you can Ctrl-drag the end of that single event for the same effect. You can also add a velocity envelope if you need more adjustment, or to vary the speed as the video progresses.

Thanks Chienworks for the tips.....

Basically what I've done is update my V6 project daily after taking the daily photo. After copying the digital photo to my computer, I open up my project and insert/import the photo for that day. I then pan/crop the photo to adjust it to where it matches the previous photo as far as location. I then set the photo length to .3 seconds.

I realize there's probably a better way to do it, but since I imported the photos on a daily basis, that's the method I chose.

I like your suggestion about grouping them together if I choose to change the time interval for all of them. Right now I have a little over 40 photos in this sequence.

Thanks again....
