I have to admit that I've gotten hooked on these guys and their crazy crazy vids. Probably done on a mac, but I can't help it they're just too entertaining.

I don't even drink and I can't stop watching these guys.

Anyway - just for fun (we all need to have some of that in our day) I thought I'd share.

In the 1950s I'd call it "cool, man."

In the 1960s I'd call it "groovy."

In the 1970s I'd call it "fab."

In the 1980s I'd call it "rad."

In the 1990s I'd call it "da bomb."

But right now, in whatever we call this decade, anything that is really great will from now on be referred to as "Tiki Bar."

What a dumb guy I've been.

I just watched Episode 16, and all this time I never realized that all I had to do to get 16:9 was to just rip out those black bars at the sides...

I won't be making that mistake again!

Just watched it again.

Two observations:

(1) These guys are going to be big one day. Who will be surprised if we read some time next year that Comedy Central has hired them to produce some kind of show? Sure it's campy, but I can see this spreading around the high school/college circuit via IM or email.

(2) Notice the video player they use? It's the one I stumbled across a few weeks ago. It works with Flash8-encoded flv files, and is only about 3KB in size. I'm seeing it all over the Internet. It's a freeware product offered here and I believe it's simple little things like this that revolutionize an industry almost overnight. Here's a link to the same player as I implemented it on my choir site last week.

For me the player would not play one of those videos without frequent buffer stops. Very annoying. Videos were also really dark as is typical of Flash.

Flash is my least favorite media player. Too bad, it looked really interesting.

Now if one could download and play them it would probably be very entertaining.

John, if you use firefox, or if you have QT pro, you can just watch the QT files and save those media.

Also - you can just subscribe to the iTunes podcast and get it that way.

Craftech:

I dunno, I wonder if there is some glitch in the path from them to you--it loads real fast for me here in the Pacific NW. I'm on a cable modem, which has an enormous bandwidth in the middle of the day (hardly anybody else using it then, I guess).

I have not seen any color or luminance shift with that freeware Jeroen Flash player that they use (and which I've used on the choir website). I don't have that much experience with Flash so far, but I do know that the current iteration (Flash8) is WAY better than all previous versions. I don't think it's quite as efficient as WMV9, based on my limited tests over the past few weeks, but it's definitely in the same neighborhood, and I love the fact that I'm not seeing any installation and/or playability issues like I was with Windows Media.

Incidentally, I saw somewhere yesterday that someone ran recent tests on all the commonly-used streaming formats, and there was one clear winner. You won't believe it--it was Real. Regardless of that opinion, I wouldn't go near the Real player with the proverbial 10-foot pole.

Damn, she's cute!

Went to watch a few seconds to grasp what this thread was about. Watched the whole current segment and bookmarked for future reference for watching other segments.

To this old guy, the woman in the cast is just captivating... what a great smile and video-attitude. The guys are fun, too, but...

It's playing for me now. Maybe I tried at a bad time the first time. Pretty entertaining. Thanks Dave.
