OT: Transfer OS&Programs 2 Larger HD

I wish all video-related software only had a 50 MB footprint like Vegas does but...My C:Sys hard drive is getting filled up and I gotta transfer the XPPro and everything else on it to a 120GB HD.

What program(s) can you sugest to accomplish this?

I've got an ASUS A7M266-D MoBo w/dual AMD 2600 procs. Should I be concerned about the MoBo supporting the final HDD size of 240 GB?

On "The Screen Savers" on TechTV they had a caller call in and ask the same thing. It's under show notes for last week, somewhere.

How big was your old HD that you filed it up? :)

60 GB. There's 15 GB free. The problem is..I use removable HD trays for the video or D:Drive. Sometimes I want move a large avi file onto the C:Drive when I'm removing a D:Drive.

15 GB isn't big enough to do this.

You will find a lot of help at PC911

You might also consider getting a E drive and move some of the stuff at C over there.
TIP:
CD and DVD drives are always assigned the last available letter by default. When you add a new harddrive, it gets that letter. Then Windows and other apps start to complain because they can't find what they are looking for at drive E. The trick is to manually assign CD and DVD drives to letters further back in the alphabet, leaving some free letters for new hard drives. That way your apps will always be able to find and access the drive from which they were installed.

To avoid the hassle of transferring OS & Programs, I'd check to see what else you've got on there.

I have heaps of software, and XP Pro OS and all Progs take up less than 14 Gb.
Do you have an extra 30Gb of programs?

Wow. You'ge got a LOT of stuff. I've got an 80gb drive: 10gb of games, 3.5gb of programs, 6gb in My Doc's, and lots of misc stuff, and I STILL have over 30gb free.

You don't capture to your C drive, do you?

Oh, you could get another internal IDE drive, say 80-120gb for video stuff/misc stuff. Keep your're removables. Or, get a firewire or USB external drive that you keep hooked up. Then, only keep programs on your C. That would help.
