If anyone is interested, I just found out that you can get http://www.caligari.com/Products/trueSpace/tS75/brochure/intro.asp?Cate=BIntroTrueSpace 7.6 for Free[/link]. I was thinking about perhaps using it for some animated storyboarding to demonstrate film concepts, although it looks quite elaborate (read: huge learning curve). But, free... that gets my Scottish blood fired up!

In the same vein, http://www.reallusion.com/iclone/default.aspiClone3[/link] is just about to be released. Now that looks much easier. Using a videogame controller to animate your characters?! That's creativity.

There's a training course available for this product.
At the bottom of this page is a link to a zipped file of all of the videos.
There are a number of other training videos that you can download, if you look around their site.
A lot of the older videos show techniques that still work in the new version, and they can be useful even if you use a different program altogether.
Some general graphics design concepts and even staging, lights, and camera placement and manipulations are explained/covered.
