I know quite a few here use this rather capable box. Latest version firmware now available for download from Canopus adds to the 300 a capability that the 100 had all along. You'll need to read their forum to find out how to activate it.
I don't want to be seen to be encouraging anyone to do anything naughty but I've had this box decide that a tape a client had recorded a long time ago on their own VCR of their own material, that it shouldn't copy it.
