OT USB 3.0 stick faster than harddisk

I just tested an 32GB USB 3.0 stick (A DATA 180Mb read / 50Mb write) with no problem in preview or render (Vegas 11/64).
32 GB is enough for at least 2 hour of 1080 AVCHD files from one cam in a multiple cam project and it is faster than a common harddisk.
I can recommend it for this purpose as an alternative to the expensive harddisks nowadays.

fwiw, Since I was running out of Hard Drive space my Laptop, I just purchased one of these (the 1.5TB model):

It's small enough to slip inside my laptop cooling base. I've done a couple Sony Vegas Project tests and it seems to work nicely, however no rigorous benchmarking. It's not Flash Memory as in the OP, but it is USB 3.0 - and seems to be quite fast.

PS: Boy I never thought that a 500GB internal drive would run out of space!

I got 12 harddisks for storing but the stick is just for edit.
Its faster and I get better preview and its formatted after each project.

I have one of those Free Agent 1.5 TB drives as well. Mine is plugged into one of the new PogoPlug series 4 devices via USB 3. This gives me my own personal 1.5 TB cloud which is super fast at home and limited by my Internet upload speed everywhere else.
