OT-Use video from Sony handout DVD

Hello,

I have the Sony Promotional DVD for the Z1 that they handed out at NAB.. Was wondering if I could load some of that footage into Vegas 6 on my sytem to experiment with?? (I have no camera yet) Looks like a lot of it is in the WMV format.. Also can I load WMV files into Gearshift(hey Spot) ???

Sure, you can load some of the footage into Vegas, but I didn't think any of it was m2t footage?
As far as I'm aware, it's all wmv, and in that event, Gearshift won't do you *much* good, except that you can learn to play with it.

Hi Spot,
i took some of the WMV files, and converted them to mpeg2 files.. brought them into vegas 6..and was able to play around .. tried out gearshift.. after fiddling around a bit, got it figured out..looks like it works pretty well..nice.. One thing which may be necesary is a utility to clean up(remove) all of your Proxy files after the edit is complete..
I need to play around with this more, I am sure i will have more questions and suggestions.. This(gearshift) is potentially a very important app..!!!
