OT: Useful tool and tutorial on PS

OK, I know this isn't a PS forum and many here come from a stills background and get a lot of help making the transition to video. But for me it's the other way around.
After getting my brain around how CC etc works in the video world the toolset in PS and other photo manipulation packages is all a bit confusing. It makes sense in the end but I found this tutorial a good read:

http://www.sphoto.com/techinfo/histograms/histograms.htm

Also following a link from there I found this:

http://www.reindeergraphics.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=31&Itemid=54

I was thinking I'd missed something about PS, what's the point of working in 16 bit with only 8 bit tools, well no I didn't miss anything, PS is missing a tool and the above link gives it to you for FREE.

Hope this helps someone.

Bob.

/edit.

Vegas has histograms and to me they're way more intuitive than scopes and waveforms. My broadcast mates reckon I'm nuts for thinking that so take my opinions with a grain of salt!

thanks Bob for the link. There are many plug-ins for photoshop CS2 concerning plotting color space and everyday a couple more plugins appears,(many are a waste of time and money) ............

Histograms are great for displaying large datasets for quick review. thanks for the tip.
