Basically the same thing, 'polyphonic' wave files and still no luck as far as I know.
But I thought BeSweet will decode to separate files?
Failing that i suspect there's a file spliiter utility around somewhere, there's certainly one for BWF files.

I wish they would incorporate their own Hybrid SACD - I have the update to the "Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon" Hybrid CD and it sounds great (don't know if this format uses compression?)
OK, heres the deal..
farss, i dunno how ur having issues with BWF, but then again im only recording mono tracks to BWF... im not even bothering with multis with MWF.. not yet..
anyway, moving on..
Besweet allows the conversion of ac3 to six individual mono wav files. no u MUST take onto consideration that even though ur extracted file is wav, the source is actually a compressed format with all the correct compression, dynamic range settings , rf modes etc etc in tact..
besweet is great coz it names all ur splits perfectly, so all u gotta do is create 6 audio tracks, mute whatever tracks are null for each wav file and ur set.
When re-rendering be sure to turn of line mode and rf modes and ensure that the new encode is set to -31 normalisation, this will give u as close the original recode...
and to be perfectly honest, i would prefer to have the 5.1 split into its own, as some 5.1 tracks are jsut rubbish.. like Aliens.. ive reripped that and remixed my own audio and this time ive added an LFE channel.. i know that ur not supposed to do that, but i was experimneting to see if it could be possible and to be honest, i find that my mix is MUCH beefier (especialy with all teh effects) thatn the original 5.0 soundtrack.. besweet is teh way to go, jsut be sure to set besweets gui to not renormalise anything.. everythgn MUST be set to zero...
Vegas can only handle stereo BWFs.
There are ways around that limitation i.e. apps that'll split the BWF into wav files but that's a bit of a kludge and involves a lot of risks in editing like loosing sync.
Why do I think this is a significant limitation?
Firstly because every serious field recorder records to bwf and Vegas is an audio app with video tacked on, or so I thought :)
Secondly it's standard fare to deliver 4 tracks of audio, one pair for M&E and the other for dialgue, being able to output all four tracks into one bwf file with T/C is a neat way to archive the soundtrack, particularly given that Vegas cannot even PTT more than 2 tracks of audio.
