everybody found it hilarious (got the song from a thread on the forum, forget who, but thanks!) but I figured people here would like the technical aspects of it more. 26 tracks: 15 video, 1 audio, 13 with track motion.
Great stuff. I just love it. Any chance of getting the veg file? LOL..
The song fits perfectly and the transitions accordingly. It is really something different. Love it!
pleasantly oddball - I liked it - thanks for sharing.
Watching this brings up a question that I have had for while -
Do Vegas people who also do still/slide shows use Vegas to make them - or a different package.
I use Proshow Producer - I find it has so much "ready" for stills I save time with it.
Before I do a "presentation project" like for a birthday etc.
I always ask myself (and sometimes the client)
- Is this a photo slide show that may have some videos OR
- Is this a video that may have some stills
Depending on the answer, that is how I decide what to use for my primary.
There are great add on software to Vegas that will save you a considerable amount of time and energy doing photo and/or video still/slide shows. VASST has got Ultimate S Pro and JETDV has got Excalibur. And you can do so much more with these add-ons.
Stephen how long did you have to stand in the corner for ?
the slap in the head was pretty quick. :)
I could of used something else to do this but I didn't. But I did come up with an idea: so far all the script plugins for slideshows in vegas to relatively simple things. IE rotate, zoom, pan, etc. A script where it would give you the option for things like "screen of falling leaves style events" or "slug movement" would be super super super cool. It's all track motion, pan/crop, etc. Vegas allows unlimited tracks so that's even a non-issue in creating things like this.

I'm sure you guys have heard of this on-line slideshow service, but a photographer friend of mine uses them all the time for his clients as part of the photographic packages he offers.
He does quite a few senior photo shoots as well as dance studios and they typically don't have a lot of money to spend.
I don't feel like it's "getting into my pocket" too much as an editor because I wouldn't have been hired to do these projects in the first place.
i've seen it and it's pretty neat. but that's like instead of my wife making my mom a cake for her birthday she goes out & buys one.

I know what you mean ;-) And I would never use Animoto for a project like this. In fact, I did a slideshow featuring my Grandson recently and it's a hand built, Vegas project the whole way!
But, I was offering up the link to folks out there that might be working on really low budget projects and would like to offer this sort of product at a rate that would be acceptable to their clients. Or in case of me using Animoto a few times -- friends (or family) that wanted me to edit a "fancy slideshow" for them for a "good price" -- which, of course, means free ;-)
