Hi,
I just threw this video together with some stuff I had in like two minutes. Somehow, despite the fact that it has no point and no professional quality, i really like it. The mood is very strong. The last shot is really powerful... I think. So I thought I would share it with my friends here. But now that I see it there on youtube it looks horible.. It doesn't look bad at all in Quicktime on my pc.. I don't know what happened.

Thanks for watching. please comment,

enjoy.

I don't see anything "wrong" with that. It clearly evokes a feeling within me. Isn't that what it is suppose to do?

You should know by now that anything involving motion looks terrible on YouTube. I think you should upload a 720p version and live with the fact that it is an excellent creative effort. It is evocative for me too -- excellent filming.

Are you by some chance, being too hard on yourself again . . .?

" I don't know what happened"

1) Denoising can help a lot. Even footage I've shot at 0dB with my EX1 can benefit from some of Mike Crash's Dynamic Noise Reduction FX.
2) If you've shot interlaced then Mike Crash's Smart De-Interlacer used with considerable care can work wonders. I really do mean you need to take care, tiny interlace artifacts cause H.264 to create blobs.
3) I've not found a lot motion to be that much of an issue with YT, take care of 1) and 2) first. Still some of your footage has a lot of camera bumps in it and that sure desn't help the encoder's motion estimation thingy. Just a soft pillow under the camera can help shooting from a vehicle, if you can drive really slowly, keep you foot off the brake as much as possible. Easy enough to speed it up in post.

I do like the feel of it and the music works well with the visuals. Wet roads are great for adding atmosphere to an ordinary street.

It has a point. The point depends on the viewer. It could be that someone is looking for a lost pet, or someone is looking for a loved one who has not come home, or someone is searching for a lost memory, or retracing an unforgetable time in one's life. The list can go on and on...

Like it.

THanks for all the feed back guys. Really appreciate it. I will work on those different things... I am actually going to redo this thing in HD when I get my new laptop in a few days. Now, after seeing it, I think it is worth making into something good. Has the potential.

Believe it or not, in South America (where it was shot) I probably could get the entire fire department to follow me around and wet the streets. People are like that down there. But really I just shot outside the window as we were coming back from a movie late at night... didn't plan on making it into anything. So cool.

Thanks guys. You'll are great.
