OT - Viewing PC video on your TV

What do you use to view your PC video on your TV?

This is something I just haven't gotten into *yet*, but want to start doing soon. I have a couple of PC's with Windows Media Center Edition, just never put them to full use.

I know D-Link makes a media player that lets you stream PC (AVI, WMV, MPG, etc) videos to watch on your TV.

What are you guys using to do this?

Do you like what you're using, or would you do something differently if you were to start from scratch? What kind of cables/connections do you use?

Anyone using PC based DVR's? (as opposed to TiVo / ReplayTV)

There are TONS of different answers to this. I'm sure you'll get a few here, but if you really want to get into this go here:

AVS Forum

and look for the HTPC (Home Theater PC) section.

I've been doing the pc-tv thing for around 6 years. I started using www.snapstream.com around 2002 and still use it today. There is a revolution underway in this market, so research carefully. Snapstream has informative forums for your review.

There is some additional discussion on the following thread (from a couple days ago):

A really big issue on this is playing HD video. Lots of media players handle SD but not HD...
