Steve Jobs announced immediate release of iTunes 10 today so make sure that, if you're a Vegas user who also uses iTunes, that it is NOT set to auto update itself.
Remember what happened the last time a new version of iTunes was released :-(
I don't think Sony will bail us out of a new mess anytime soon.

Apple changes their API, and don't tell anyone, and this is, somehow, Sony's fault? Quicktime updates break a lot of non-Apple programs, so this is a poor excuse to slam Sony.
Apple does not release their API updates to outside developers until just days before a product announcement, precisely to keep the leaks checked. Of course, all of the Apple programmers had the new API months ago.

I never said it was Sony's fault so please don't read into my statement something that was never there to begin with.
Sony was very quick in responding to issues with a recent new version of QuickTime and that was greatly appreciated.
However, if the new iTunes/QuickTime fouls up our systems once again, we can't expect them to drop everything and fix a problem when it's not their fault to begin with.
Can you try importing and exporting .mov QuickTime files? Try importing a Quicktime encoded with H.264. If something is wrong the video may render as black when in the timeline. Also, try importing an unprotected AAC audio file and see if it works. Thanks.
