OT:WebBased CellPhone video w/o Flash or YouTube?

Since it seems that Apple isn't going to put Flash on their mobile devices... iphone, ipad, etc...

The question is how to put video on a website that will progressively play on mobile devices like the Droid, iPod, iPad, etc?

Yes, Droid and some others are planning on Flash enabling their devices and maybe Apple will follow but who knows.

I thought the Droid and others had a built in h.264 player that would "progressively" play videos so encouded and put in an mp4 or m4v container... but we have been unable to get this to work with the Droid.

It will play such a video if we transfer it to the phone via USB so that tells us the phone will play h.264 m4v files...

Does anyone know how to... or what the ultimate solution may be to have video's progressively play on smart phone mobile devices...

And if there is a solution... html coding... tricks to encoding the video and audio... or whatever... we sure would appriceate some tips.

Are the only choices to either put it on YouTube and link to it... or have the mobile user wait while the video completely downloads to their device?

Thanks for any help.
