That and Cineform playback that's as good as it was in version 6. That's the thing that I want most right now.

Anyone else lost the ability to import MOVs on 7 too?

I'm not having problems with mov files on the timeline. First you must install QT7 with authoring components (Vegas 6 needed QT 6 w/ authoring components).

Authoring Components?

Does that mean QT Pro?

They promised to release an update on or before the new V1 cam ships. So 7b will ship some time before Christmas. I agree that the WMV issue should be fixed.

No. The free download from Apple works fine.

7b is out, but as always the sony servers are so slow its currently saying 4 hours to download. This should only take 10 mins. Grrrr

Danny,

I've had the slow download problem twice before. Both times, I canceled the download, and then started fresh, and both times the download speeded up 100-fold.

Not sure what the glitch is, but I'd cancel, start a new download and see what happens.

I ordered 7.0 asap, but have not installed it since I wanted the 7b before I dared do actual paid work with it.

Time to finally check it out.

By the way, download is really fast right now - 500+kb/sec.

7b cost me $3.52. I'm in the Santa Barbara wine country and my Cellular data card does not have the bandwidth, so I had to buy a cup of coffee to get "free" wi-fi. I'm working with footage shot on my new HVR-A1U and could not be happier. The only disappointment is my Dell laptop screen is nowhere near the quality of the 2.7" screen on the A1U. Time to buy a field monitor.

Download has slowed way up now.
