OT: Which firewire Switcher for live broadcast ?

We are looking at inexpensive solutions for a live streaming multi-cam event.

1 - I see inexpensive "passive" firewire switchers... but I'm guessing they "flicker" when you push the button to switch... right?

2 - We just want to be able to switch cam's... nothing fancy... actually we want the on-cam "host" to be able to push the buttons to switch cameras... so what can you guys suggest we take a look at?

In answer to question 1, yes, flicker would be an understatement.

How many cameras?

@ my old job we used a simple analog switcher for going OTA. No flicker at all. The only difference would be you'd hookup via bnc/component vs firewire/whatever else is used. But I could sync up two tapes with identical content (DVCPro VCR's) & switch between them all I wanted & you couldn't tell, period.

So don't rule out analog switchers.
