OT: Windows 10 offer is back after uninstall"

Monday morning the Internet and this forum was abuzz with discussions on the way Microsoft offered WIndows 10 as an update. The SVP thread is there.

I uninstalled the update on both my desktop and laptop by removing KB3035583 as described in the SVP thread. However, as of Thursday Windows 10 offer is back on both my desktop and laptop.

I thought this desired a new thread. Anyone else see this behavior?

If your computer is set for auto updates it probably installed the file again.

same here but on one computer, a solid W7 pro all I had to do was to next time HIDE the update and windows learned to not update anymore, whereas on the other computer that came with a W 8 installed and I had converted to a 7 pro, the W10 offer keeps reinstalling itself no matter what I do, including to uncheck the auto install.

As of Friday, the Windows 10 update is back on my laptop for a third time. I have removed it 2 times, but it has installed 3 times. However, on the 3rd install, the icon no longer appears in the icon tray. In other words, I believe if you delete it twice, it won't show up in the icon tray, but it is still installed as shown in the Windows Update "Installed Updates" app.

Weird ...

A simpler way is to disable it like the windows 10 FAQ says (that is linked to in the Windows 10 upgrade dialog): http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/windows-10-faq?ocid=win10_auxapp_AnswerDesk_win10faq
