Check out the review my debut DVD production got in Record Collector magazine this month:

http://www.recordcollectormag.com/reviews/review-detail/3677

Everything was shot with Sony Z1s, audio captured on an Alesis HD24 recorder thing and a bunch of preamps, video and audio edited in Vegas 6.0 and 8.0, and audio mixed in stereo and surround in Pro-tools. The DVD was authored in Architect 4.5 and 5.

Wooot! Congratuations :)

Just curious though ... why wasn't the audio mixed in Vegas?

Thank you :)

We mixed mostly in a studio in London and Pro-tools was the standard and what the engineer wanted to work with. But either way, I would not have mixed in Vegas. There was no way we could have done that mix in it. It is simply not man enough for it. If I had done the mix by myself, I probably would have used Cubase.

Congrats.

BTW there is a fan site link on his website that Firefox reports as an "attack site". Don't know what that's all about and I've never seen it before but just a heads up.

Excellent work.
Don't you just hate those people who have to walk in front of your camera.

Bob.

Thanks guys. I take it you like the way we handled the way we made use of that guy that walks in front of the camera? Actually I'm not sure how that shows up in the Youtube version, but we were quite happy when we saw it on the raw tape.

Yes, I think they are aware of the "attack site" issue. I think the problem was with their hosting provider. Unfortunately once a url is listed as 'potentially harmful' its virtually impossible to get it removed from the list.

Last week I got a nasty TDSS virus infection from a DVDShrink website that Firefox reported as an "attack site". First symptom is when you click on a link generated by a google search, the browser goes to unrelated websites. That's only the beginning. Over the next couple of days my system and specific programs became more unstable.
