I think that this would probably be just about the best way to boost productivity for the extremely busy, or if not that then 2 machines with to monitors each and a manual quick switch on a keyboard/mouse combo that would make it work on one set and then the other while using shared drives.
Could you figure out how its configured? Not much info in the ad...does each computer need to have this graphics card installed?
I have an older desktop and a new one for editing and it would be great to have them both hooked up so they could share monitors....
i.e., while one CPU renders or captures (where you really don't need to view anything)
the other computer is available for editing and uses the monitors.
Switching back and forth would be terrific especially if its a simple push of a button, and the average person could configure the setup....
For the project I'm working on now I'm using something even cooler: the http://www.nvidia.com/page/qfx_uhe.htmlQuadro FX 5600[/link]. (We also have the 4600.) But even that's being challenged by what I'm throwing at it. The project I'm doing is photoreal CG animation at a resolution of... are you ready?... 10755x1050. And stereoscopic 3D. The screen for the final presentation wraps around, a full 360 degrees and is 25 feet tall.
I have one of the cheaper / older Quadro FX cards, very nice.
Need to upgrade it shortly for dual 30" monitors. Got to do some serious saving. Really what these cards are made for isn't so much 4 monitors it's for 2x Dual DVI. The DVI interface pegs out at around 1920x1080 so you need the dual variant to get higher res.
