OT: XP driver question

Ok - so I have seen this on sites for the DVHS and HDV stuff and i found it today for the dual decks. Has anyone actually found this driver? I have XP Pro with SP1a and for the life of me this is not any driver option. Matter of fact right now the deafult listing is for an "‘AVC compliant DV TAPE recorder/player" just like the site says....but no matter what I do, or where I look there simply is no "JVC Tape Device" option. And nowhere I search can I find any place to download any sort of driver.

I am so confused at this.

Youre the second one I've seen bring this up in various forums that can't locate the driver. does it matter? In other words, does it need to be JVC specific for the deck since the deck is 1394?

In a word - I am not sure. Why am I not sure? Because my deck seems to work fine. However it is an issue of *if* this driver adds some sort of functionality. For example when I was looking into getting a DVHS deck I found this same thing listed as steps to be able to get that deck to read in XP. Everyone says it so matter of factly - just like the JVC site does. At that time I thought it was just a DVHS thing but finding the same steps, on the JVC site no less, in relation to the deck I do have - well, I have to wonder.

So you know - I did not get the DVHS deck (Although the 3k model is now down to about 230 bucks or so, so maybe...) so I can't test that part. Now with the new CU-VH1US out that supports firewire , both HDV and DV, I can only feel the same "install" procedure would apply - yet there is no indication of where the bloody driver comes from other than XP. (A search of the MS site is really of no help on this issue either)

My main question is - does anyone see this option listed? Even if you don't have a JVC deck - go to the add new hardware section and just click "yes" when it asks if you already have the hardware hooked up. Than follow the same steps as listed. Do you have JVC there? I don't...and I don't have *any* JVC options even when I "show all".
