The question would be" has anybody other than Spot been able to get their hands on a Z-1?". :)
I didnt think that they were avail yet, But maybe outside the US ?

well, I figured that the Z-1 was possibly out somewhere. BUT, I kinda figured that Spot might be ultra-nice enough to shoot something, or has shot something in DVCAM, that he might just be able to post, or someone else.

I guess I don't understand what you're expecting to see? The image isn't going to be any different than that of a DV mode shot. If it was a comparison that had some value, I could see myself spending time. But it's not....
Regarding accesiblity, I only get to see this cam once in a great while. It's been shipped out here for testing, and it will be at Sundance, and I had one for a week while working on the book and another week while at DV Expo, but the guys at Sony are VERY careful about where they go, who gets them, for how long, etc. And they babysit them like nothing I've ever seen. If we leave the demo area, it goes with us, it's never alone....They are like chicken lips right now...very rare.

DV or DVCAM mode, makes no difference, I'm mainly wondering if there's more dynamic range in DV or HDV. Mostly was wanting to find comparison footage, but it isn't a big deal. I totally understand if you're too busy. Perhaps you've already been able to see if there is, and could tell me. Thanks for all youre input on these cams.

Isn't it slatedf for a general release in February?

They've not announced a specific date as of yet, as far as I know. They've said late Feb/early March, but no dates.
I sure wish they'd get here though.

I'll guess that's still a not a comparison worth making?
