Zaxcom and "affordable" got me going. Then I read very carefully and there seems to be a few "optional" words in there, like the transmitter.
One other issue, at least I think in AU, the transmitter is 100mW output which is great but I think you need a licence at that power level.

Yes there are a few options but even with them this is still an affordable high end mixer/recorder.
AES input option - $395
6-Channel Recording option - $395
Transmitter option - $1095 (requires the AES input option)
Visual timecode slate option - $100
Maxx to the max - $3,995
Go with any other piece of gear and you'll end up spending a lot more more to get the same features.
The RF power output can be set to 50mW as well as 10mW, 25mW and 100mW so they have the different country limits covered.

You're right. I know what sort of prices high end field audio gear goes for. Easy to double the cost of a camera by the time you add in a receiver module, mixer and transmitter(s). If the MAXX package is more manageable compared to the setups I've seen some audio guys lugging around it should sell very well even at a somewhat higher price.
