OT: Zoom H1 recorder turns itseoff after 6 minutes

I've read posts here about some Zoom H1 units having troubles with battery life. I have a different problem, though: I just got an H1, and I set it up to capture audio from a lectern for an event I was shooting.
At the end of the event, which was an hour long, I discovered that the H1 had turned itself off. When I got to my computer I found out that it had recorded for exactly 6 minutes, then stopped.
The battery still had (has) a strong charge.
Has anyone else experienced this "automatic turning itself off feature" with the H1?

I just did a test on my Zoom H1 - I manually turned it off after 17 min @ the highest bitrate 96/24. Your micro SD card isn't full, is it?

I had this happen last year intermittently on a different brand / model of recorder. Tracked it down to a bad SD card from ADATA which has since been round-filed.

Try a different card, see if Zoom recommends one, format it in the machine, and if you can do a test record of the complete card before any critical shoot.

I had this happen with a Zoom Q3 and it was due to not having alkaline battery selected

I had this with my 1st gen H4.
Switching to a SanDisk media solved it.
