I have the money right now to buy a DVX100a.. here is my dilema.. I need a camera... Im waiting til april because Im afraid that theyll release a newer better camera for the same price and make DVX100a obsolete.. can anyone who has been watching NAB and been in the biz awhile advise me..?? If they were to release a new hi def model or the like how long before we can buy it??? what should I do??? Should I go with the DVX100a.. i know Im asking alot.. I just need some insight for a clouded mind by those who are in the same biz.. Thanks

no matter what cam you buy or when you buy it,,,a "better" cam is about to be released.
Having said those words of wisdom.. I'd still wait until NAB

>>Sony anted up today with HDV camcorder???<<<

I just posted this in the other thread but the Sony press release doesn't say too much about the actual camera. It doesn't mention Vegas but it does mention Sony Vaio - here is the exact line: In parallel, Sony sees a non-linear editing HD technology for VAIO PCs as one of the solutions to address such growing demand. The press release says that a prototype will be shown at CeBIT. And if you look close at the photo you see the model number as "0000". So I would guess the actual product is a ways off...long past this years NAB.

I would expect because its a pretty impressive 3rd revision that it will be sometime before a 4th will come.
